On October 4, the RA NA Deputy Speaker Mikayel Melkumyan met with the students and lecturers of Gyumri Branch of Armenian State University of Economics (ASUE) within the framework of the RA NA Open Doors programme.

The NA Deputy Speaker presented to the students the structure of the parliament, introduced the legislative activities and the debate procedure of the bills.

Mikayel Melkumyan highlighted the transition from the semi-presidential into parliamentary system and added that from April of the next year the role of the parliament will rise in the management and development of our country.

Touching upon the obstacles of the economy development, the NA Speaker emphasized the fighting against corruption and shadow economy.

The RA NA Deputy Speaker advised the students to master several languages and computer skills, to be aware of the news of economics, to read professional literature for becoming good economists.
